About us

We did recruit school (RS) ourselves — infantry, working our way up to sergeant.

Our first badge, the "Mimimi" badge, came from a simple, humorous idea — originally just meant for us and our platoon mates. But word about the design spread faster than expected. Comrades from other platoons wanted one too, then comrades from other companies. Suddenly a little inside joke had become something that appealed to many.

With this unexpected demand it became clear to us: there was no easy way to have badges produced in small quantities. Many providers require high minimum orders that are unattractive especially for smaller groups. That's exactly where we wanted to start.

That's how MatMag was founded — from practice, for practice. Our goal was clear from the start: to make high-quality, custom-designed badges accessible — whether for individual soldiers, small teams or entire units. We place great value on quality, attention to detail and a simple process.

Today we stand for creative freedom, personal designs and a community that wants to make its ideas visible. What started as a small badge has become a platform where ideas turn into real products.
